Give Claude Code, Cursor and ChatGPT the same project context
Each coding assistant has its own context file: CLAUDE.md, Cursor rules, a ChatGPT project. Write the shared part once as a bubble, and every tool reads the same version.

Write the brief once
Keep it short: what the project is, the stack, the conventions, and what's off limits.
# Acme API: brief for AI assistants
- TypeScript, Hono on Cloudflare Workers, Postgres through Supabase.
- Run npm test before calling a change done.
- Never edit a migration that has shipped; add a new one.
- Errors go back as { status: "ERROR", error_info }, never as a thrown 500.Paste it on your bubbles page, or save it from the terminal:
npx sixteenbridges login
npx sixteenbridges save "Acme API brief" brief.mdConnect each tool
One remote MCP server serves every app. Desktop editors can run it locally through the CLI instead, with no connector and no paid plan.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http sixteen-bridges https://mcp.sixteenbridges.com/mcp- In Claude Code, run /mcp, pick sixteen-bridges and sign in. Allow it on sixteenbridges.com.
Cursor
{
"mcpServers": {
"sixteen-bridges": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"sixteenbridges",
"mcp"
]
}
}
}- First, sign this computer in once: npx sixteenbridges login
- Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or Settings → MCP → Add), then reload.
Codex
codex mcp add sixteen-bridges --url https://mcp.sixteenbridges.com/mcp
codex mcp login sixteen-bridges- The login opens your browser: Allow it on sixteenbridges.com.
ChatGPT
- Turn on Developer mode: Settings → Apps (or Connectors) → Advanced settings.
- Create an app or connector named Sixteen Bridges with the URL https://mcp.sixteenbridges.com/mcp and OAuth sign-in.
- Allow it on sixteenbridges.com, then turn it on in the chat.
Developer mode is on paid plans, and saving or editing bubbles from ChatGPT may need a Business or Enterprise plan. Workspace admins may need to allow custom apps first.
VS Code, Windsurf, Gemini CLI and the rest: steps for each app.
Use it, keep it current
Start a session with one line:
Read my bubble "Acme API brief" and follow it.When the project changes, update the bubble from whichever tool you're in, for example: “Add to my Acme API brief: we moved to Drizzle.” Every tool reads the new version the next time it opens it.
